Job opportunities for unemployed (Age 18+)
Job Title: Production Operative
Location: O’Neills Strabane
One weeks training course leading to job opportunities for the unemployed (aged 18+).
The Department for the Economy in conjunction with O’Neills Irish International Sports Company Ltd has developed a training programme to meet the needs of the company.
The course is provided under the Department’s Bridge to Employment programme which aims to equip unemployed people with the skills to compete for new job opportunities
Previous experience is not essential but applicants should:
- Have a strong attention to detail and quality.
- Have a strong work ethic.
- Have the ability to work to targets and timescales.
- Have the ability to work in a fast pace customer focused environment.
- Have the ability to work as part of a team.
- Be prepared to work shifts.
In the event that short listing is required, the following desirable criteria may be used to select applicants for interview.
- Good Standard of Education - 5 GCSE’s including English and Maths.
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment.
The selection process for a training place will include an information day and an interview.
Starting pay after Bridge to Employment training is as follows:
Starting Rate: Minimum/Living Wage depending on age.
On successful completion of probationary period, production operator rate of £8.07 applies.
