Your new Company
HNH Human Capital are exclusively retained by Everun to recruit a Head of Business Development into their Belfast office. Since its establishment in 2010, Everun has provided a wide range of services to the Renewable Energy industry. The primary sector is wind and in that market, they currently manage a large and diverse portfolio of projects and assets, including wind Turbines. Due to continued success and stability of long term contracts, Everun are recruiting a Head of Business Development to deliver strategic growth across their core activities and also to explore new markets, product and sectoral opportunities by utilising their current capabilities.
Your new role
As Head of Business Development in this newly created position, you will be tasked with both strategic and operational responsibilities that contribute to overall company growth and direction. You will be a valued member of the senior management team and will possess an entrepreneurial and flexible problem-solving approach in identifying opportunities and dealing with challenges.
Liaising directly with the Managing Director, you will have a large degree of autonomy in the role and will be expected to adapt to changing business and industry needs. You will develop and deliver a targeted sales approach to meet financial targets and cultivate a sales culture within the existing team. You will provide strategic and operational assistance in broadly diversifying the company products utilising existing talent capabilities and may be responsible for training and upskilling team members.
Am I right for the position?
To be a successful Head of Business Development and to be able to fully meet the responsibilities and opportunities this role provides, it is expected that you can offer a clear track record of between 5-8 years of Businesses Development / Sales delivery in a similar role. Particular experience in assessing product and market diversification opportunities as well as input into strategic business plan development would be fairly essential.
It is also expected that within previous roles you can demonstrate experience in accessing new sectors and geographical markets, particularly across GB & ROI.
A strong understanding of the SME and Corporate working environment, coupled with sectoral experience from either financial services/financial management, software development, Engineering O&M, Energy Management or Project Management is anticipated. (Candidates who feel they meet the criteria for the role with other experience will, however, be considered.
Given the role sits within the company management structure, it is envisaged that you will be a strong communicator at all business levels both within and external to the company. Your persuasive skills should be strong and demonstrated in your CV via examples of effective negotiation, networking and presentation of financial data/forecasting reports that have informed decision making at a high level.
Knowledge of the Energy sector would be welcomed as would a broad understanding of the need to liaise with a variety of individuals/investors, local energy and B2B users, public bodies and trade associations as well as regional fund managers.

You will be a valued member of the Senior Management team and will work closely with the MD in shaping a sales culture and strategic sales plan for the company in a growing and exciting industry.
