The Electoral Commission is the independent body that regulates party and election finance, sets standards for well-run elections and encourages people to register to vote.
Job Description and Role Requirements
We are looking for a skilled professional with experience in the equalities field to lead on an important piece of work at the Electoral Commission. You will have the necessary skills and experience to help you quickly identify any gaps and weaknesses in the Commission’s equality processes and identify what needs to be done to address these quickly.
Your main task will be to undertake a comprehensive review of Electoral Commission processes to check our compliance across the UK against associated public sector equalities duties and the Welsh Language Standards. You will also be responsible for working with colleagues across the organisation to support them in mainstreaming these duties and standards into their day to day work.
This is a time limited piece of work and must be completed by the end of the financial year and may suit somebody who wants to work flexibly on a project. We are happy to consider the role on a part-time basis but would be looking for a minimum of 28.8 hours per week .
